It honors Jenny Lange, a graduate of UW-W who worked as an Early Childhood Special Education Consultant with the Wisconsin DPI for over 20 years and served as the Wisconsin Division for Early Childhood DPI Liaison. It promotes Jenny's vision of working or volunteering in inclusive settings where young children with disabilities play or work alongside peers without disabilities. This award is made possible by the family of the late John W Ebbott who was a graduate of UW-Whitewater and a recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award in 1956. The purpose of this scholarship is to financially assist students who have the potential and commitment for graduate work and service in the field of Psychology. This scholarship is in honor of Paula (P.B.) Poorman who taught Psychology at UW-Whitewater from 1996 until her untimely death in a tragic traffic accident in 2007. It was made possible through gifts from family, friends, colleagues and former students in her memory. Susan Simmons and P.B. had intended to start their family scholarship when Paula retired. P.B. is remembered for her passion for teaching, her integrity, an irrepressible sense of humor, and for being an amazing force in her student's lives.

He had lifelong associations with international students, especially students from Asia, where he taught in Korea and India, adopted four children from Korea, and after retirement, taught in China and Indonesia. It is specifically designated for international students from an Asian country coming to UW-Whitewater to major in English.

This scholarship is in honor of Richard F. James who was an Information Technology and Business Education professor at UW-Whitewater from 1978-2007. The scholarship is for undergraduate or graduate students majoring in Marketing/Business Education.
Candidates must be on tract for junior or senior status in Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and coaching (HPERC) at the time of application. This scholarship was established in honor of Robert (Bob) G. Weigandt who retired from UW-Whitewater as physical education emeritus professor. Between 1950 and 1980 bob taught physical education and was head basketball, golf and tennis coach, and assistant football coach. He coached the University basketball team for 17 years, winning conference championships in 1952 and 1960. His 1952 team competed in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics National Tournament in Kansas city. Between l980 and l995 Bob worked in the Department of Continuing Education for a total of 45 years of involvement with UW-Whitewater.

The Northwestern Mutual Information Technology Scholarship was established at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater to recognize outstanding academic achievement among UW-W students planning to enter technology related fields and to encourage more to do the same. The recipient of this award must be female and maintain their major in Information Technology Infrastructure (ITI) or Management Computer Systems (MCS). The Northwestern Mutual Women In Information Technology Scholarship was established at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater to recognize outstanding academic achievement among female UW-Whitewater students planning to enter technology related fields and to encourage more to do the same. This scholarship shall be made to UW-Whitewater students, preferably from Rock, Jefferson or Walworth Counties, who have sustained a spinal cord injury or other permanently disabling injury or illness.

This scholarship was established by Michael Mitchell, a 1970 UW-Whitewater graduate in Secondary Education in memory of his partner Tom Affholder. Michael is Program Coordinator of the Youth Job Center and has worked in the human service field since 1992. He is an active volunteer in his community promoting welfare and services for youth, recently serving on the board of directors of the New Harvest Foundation, the only foundation in Dane county that channels charitable contributions exclusively to organizations working to promote gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender rights, services, culture and community development. This award will be made only to student enrolled at UW-W who provides student volunteer leadership to the GLBT organization on campus. Application deadline is 4:00 pm February 1.

The Tony and Erika Prater Family Scholarship was established by alumnus Tony Prater, class of 1980, and his wife, Erika to assist a Letters & Sciences major who has successfully completed business coursework and expressed and interest in a business career. The annual amount of the scholarship is $1000. Application deadline is 4:00 pm February 1.

The award will be made to a UW-W junior or senior at the time of application majoring in Physical Education and pursuing a teaching license. The scholarship is in honor of Dr. Kate Vondereau and Dr. M. Corrine "Corky" Clark who both taught in the HPERC department and held administrative positions during the years of 1966-1988 at UW-Whitewater. Both women were also members of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. UW-Whitewater is honored to have an association with two members of this historical part of our country's past.
This scholarship will be given to a student with a declared major in the College of Business & Economics. It was established by W Craig Esrael, class of 1981/1982. Originally from Okauchee, WI, he currently resides in Cordova, TN.
This scholarship is made possible through the collective generosity of individual members of the Walworth County Area Retired Educators Association. It will be awarded to a junior or senior level student who has been admitted to Professional Education who is enrolled full-time in the College of Education and who graduated from a high school in Walworth County, State of Wisconsin.

It is desired that this scholarship will encourage undergraduate students seeking initial licensure in elementary, secondary, or special education, to continue their studies at UW-Whitewater. Student must be student teaching or interning during the fall or spring semester of the coming academic year.

This scholarship will encourage and reward academic excellence and provide a financial award to capable and deserving biology students. It commemorates the dedication Dr. Willard Gross exhibited toward his students and the University from 1968 until his death in 1990. Candidates must be enrolled at UW-Whitewater as Biology majors and must have junior status at the time of application. Exceptions will be considered over Junior standing for attendance at Pigeon Lake Field Station. The scholarship committee will consider each candidate's scholarship, interest in pursuing a career in biology (specifically in areas of ecology), personality, potential for success and need.
