Workshop - Civil Discourse Around Microaggressions

This session is an introduction and a conversation about microaggressions; brief and commonplace daily verbal, behavioral, or environmental indignities, whether intentional or unintentional, that communicate hostile, derogatory, or negative (racial, LGBQIA+, religious, gender, etc.) slights and insults toward people.

Microaggressions are a barrier to building relationships and solidarity. In order to work to avoid microaggressions we must take up the mantle of civil discourse. Tools for addressing microaggressions in a civil manner will be provided.
