Diversity Career Workshops


Today, success in school and the workplace depends on your ability to be an effective leader in a variety of settings, the ability to lead others, and be a successful member of diverse work teams.  Employers look for and expect individuals to have this skill set.

This is a three-part workshop, to be offered from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on three-consecutive Fridays - October 26, November 2, and November 9, 2018.  At these workshops participants will learn:
  • What makes effective leaders;
  • What characteristics will make you an effective leader;
  • What leadership role(s) for which you are best suited;
  • How to effectively communicate with everyone on teams of which you are a part.

Participants will complete an assessment about your personal leadership style; participate in team and leadership activities; anmd learn how to apply team leadership concents.

The workshop facilitator is David Scurlock.  David is a highly experienced professional that has been part of and led teams with organizations that include:
  • Pi Sigma Epsilon
  • Toastmasters
  • IBM
  • Sears
  • Staples
  • Johnson Controls
